First Things First

Prospective clients come to us from a wide variety of backgrounds, but all of them seek our help in taking their organizations to the next level. Many businesses have grown significantly in recent years, and they want to keep on growing into the future. On the other hand, some organizations, adjusting to changes in the economy, are looking to reduce staff, otherwise cut costs, or find new revenues. Regardless of whether they are growing or dealing with less desirable circumstances, all organizations need to envision their future, align their teams with that vision, and implement changes to move forward successfully.

In planning for growth, the most valuable first step is often "growing into" a new organization, which means updating systems, processes, and workflows. If a business has been growing, optimizing the opportunity for continued growth involves developing internal capacity while maximizing efficiency and ensuring quality: This includes revising operational workflows to improve performance, updating roles and responsibilities, training and retraining people, and improving human resources systems. Developing managers and leaders to operate at a higher level is often a key priority. Within a growing organization, larger spans of control will drive the need for improved performance-management systems, standardized compensation programs, and integrated management-development and coaching processes.

With clients who are experiencing reduced revenues, operational stabilization and optimization -- including cost-cutting -- may be needed before strategic planning for new products and services should be undertaken. Cost reduction starts with such tactics as reducing waste and errors in production, streamlining workflow between departments, and reducing turnaround time. If downsizing is needed, considerations after layoffs include designing new management structures, revising roles and responsibilities, and realignment and restoring motivation of the remaining workforce.

Whether your business is currently growing or retrenching, we at Win-Win Workplace Solutions are able to move you forward, by engaging your team in optimizing efficiency and making any other changes needed to help you succeed.

"Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is simply passing the time. Action with vision is making a positive difference."
